short intro

There are over 7 million people living in Hong Kong considering it is a small area. The lack of space turned Hong Kong into the world’s most vertical city, full of skyscrapers.

It is such an exciting and lively city with great mix of both Western and Eastern when it comes to culture, food, shopping and architecture.

There is so much to see in the bustling city of Hong Kong. You’ll find streets full with neon-lit, fishing villages, temples and endless amounts of restaurants – it’s like no place you’ve been before!

Hong Kong is administered by China but enjoys the SAR status which means that some of the restrictions that apply on the mainland don’t apply in Hong Kong. So you probably won’t need a visa to visit if you’re coming from Western Europe, Southeast Asia and America! If you are coming from Spain, check out this website to keep updated with any changes or requirements to enter the country.

Day 1. Arriving to Hong Kong

I gave myself a treat and stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn and it was wonderful, specially having a swim at night in the roof top swimming pool!

Expect good weather conditions throughout the year. The best time to visit Hong Kong is March to April and October to November. Summers are generally hot and humid, while winters are cool and dry. I traveled during summer and felt like I came out of the shower every time because of how humid the weather was!

The official money currency is the Hong Kong Dollar. I would say Hong Kong isn’t an expensive country to visit but compared to other asian countries the prices are higher. You can find comfy accommodation for 20EUR per night and eat in different places for 10EUR.

I moved around walking but you can rely on public transport – the subway is the quickest way to move around.
