Best time to visit

The best time to visit Hong Kong is between September to December. Spring is considered as the low season for tourists to visit. Springtime in Hong Kong is typically warm and humid with fog and light rain, but days can range from being sunny to having fog and rain. Summer can be a great time for tourists to visit too but the weather is quite hot and humid. The months of July to September are peak typhoon season as well, so you are likely to get wet.

THINGS TO KNOW

Currency: The Hong Kong Dollar (HKD).

Language: Chinese (mainly Cantonese) and English. Compared to China, all transport and traffic signs, including city markets (restaurants, hotels, shops, etc) have everything translated in English.

Plugs: Connection type G, commonly used in Great Britain.

VISA: For the Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macao, citizens with a Spanish passport do not need a visa for tourist trips with stays not exceeding 90 days in each region. If you are planning on crossing the border to China, it is mandatory to get a VISA.

Safety: Hong Kong is generally a fairly safe territory. However, it is necessary to maintain the usual precautions to avoid robberies in tourist sites, in means of transport, in markets and in any other crowded areas.

Health: Medical care is generally good but bills can get expensive so it is highly recommended to have a good travel insurance.
